Pop Piano

Have you ever found yourself wishing that you could play your favorite pop tunes on the piano? Wouldn't it be fun to be able to entertain your family and friends at gatherings, or perhaps, just for your own enjoyment? Lessons will cover chords, comping patterns for different styles and grooves.

Music Theory

As the saying goes, "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime".

In the case of musicians, learning music theory is akin to learning to fish; its benefits cannot be overstated. By learning music theory, you will acquire the ability to read and write the common musical language used by most professional musicians, and the end goal is to be able to decipher and assimilate as your own, the writing and playing techniques of the, making you your own teacher.

Arranging

Learning to arrange a tune for different instrument combos and genres is a indispensable skill for all musicians, and contributes to a greater understanding of band dynamics and musical interaction.

Classical Piano

Without the masters of past, such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and many more, music would not have been what it is today, and the legacy of classical music is one to behold. The music of the present is not without connection to the past, and the study of classical music will foster greater understanding and appreciation of modern day music as well. Preparations for graded music exams such as ABRSM, Trinity, are available.

Jazz Piano

The meeting of European classical harmonies and African rhythms gave birth to one of the greatest musical legacies in the history of humankind: the music of Jazz. As an art form, Jazz is as flexible as it can get; the craft of creative improvisation is at the heart of the music, and it allows the most freedom in expression. Students will be taught voicings, scales & modes, bebop and blues vocabulary, rehamonization, and more.

Sequencing & Production

A good demo communicates how the writer envisions the song, and inspires those who hear it. To that end, the knowledge of audio technology and the ability to sequence and produce your own music is invaluable especially for those who write and compose their own music.
